Homework Humor

OK, so I hate homework, but the other night while helping Macki with math we got a good laugh... There was a section on her worksheet that said something about explain how making a table could help you solve this problem.. I have to admit Anthony and I were both a little confused... We didn't know if we were supposed to have her draw a table or write about how to make it.. Anyway, while we were discussing this Macki got up off the couch, went over to the dining room table, threw her hands up and said "OK, I'm looking at the table and I still don't get it!" LOL Tony and I busted out laughing! It was so funny!! Kids take things so literally!

Change of plans.....

Well, unfortunately we had to reschedule our trip up north :-( With dad's surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, Andrea's pending surgery to repair a torn ACL and Macki's cough, it just seemed like a better idea when everyone was well... I have to say I'm disappointed!! We are having friends over tonight to watch the Bama game, so that will help! ROLL TIDE!!!!

Steve and Andrea decided to go to Charlotte, NC to visit her mom since we didn't get to go to Chicago... Piper went along for the ride, but Kaydi aka GIGANTOR is staying with us! She is only 4 months old, but the size of a monster.. She still has that puppy mentality and does not realize how humongous she is!! She is the sweetest though and I love having her around except in the middle of the night when she has to go to the bathroom and it's FREEZING outside!! It really cooled off last night! Definitely not pajama weather! lol

Well, I'm sitting on the front porch planning my day and thought I'd update you all.. Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!!

Ready for Chicago!!

We leave Thursday for Indiana to visit my family.. I could do without the dreaded drive, but it'll be worth it once we are there!! Friday morning Memaw will be cooking us breakfast!!! It's definitely worth an 8hr drive for her cooking.. Anyone who has never had my Memaw's homemade biscuits and gravy, you're missing out!!! Friday we will also head to the Brookfield Zoo and then in to the city for dinner. Of course we will eat at Harry Caray's... Karis and Macki think they haven't been to Chicago unless they eat a New York strip from there! lol Saturday lunch at Schoop's (an awesome 50's style burger place) with the family... Saturday night some College football..... ROLL TIDE!!! Finally on Sunday we will eat at the BEST pizzeria in the entire world Gelsosomo's.... If you are ever in Northern Indiana, I recommend dropping by!!

Back on football.... I am SOOOOOOO excited it is football season again!! That means parties and parties mean ROTEL!! haha Also, it means fall is close!! I can't wait for it to cool down some! Plus all the fun activities that come in the fall... Carving pumpkins, Tate Farms, Haunted houses, Halloween and homemade soup... I can't eat soup in the summertime.. Way too hot! lol

Where did Summer Break go???

I can not believe that my baby started 2nd grade yesterday!!!!! It literally seems like yesterday we were attending awards day and she would be at home with me for the Summer.. When I was a kid it actually seemed like we got a summer break. Now it's like you blink and it's time to go back to school!!! Oh well, back to the schedule of homework, dinner, bath and in bed by 8:00 for Mack Mack :( Work is still a little slow.. Starting to gear up for football season! Woohoo!! Hope the Tide wins another one so we can make lots more $$ We are headed up north to see my family Labor Day weekend, so we will miss the first game... No biggie.. We are going to the Brookfield Zoo while we are there. I have not been there since I was in 3rd or 4th grade! I'm excited to see if it's all that I remember it to be.. Well, I guess I should get back to work now...

It's been a while...

Well, let's see..... Life has been on a pretty even keel lately.. It's summertime so I'm only working 3 days a week. That's always nice!!!! WooHoo!!!! Macki has started competition gymnastics so Mondays and Wednesdays she is tied up for 3 hours!!! I was worried that 6 hrs a week would be too much, but she is LOVING it!! She has her splits on both legs now and is learning new things each week!! I am enjoying my Mondays and Fridays off!! Last Friday Macki and I went to Spring Valley Beach with Kasey (my sister-in-law) and the kids... It was really fun except around 1:30 it started storming so we had to leave.. Macki brought her new BFF Ashton home with us and they swam in our pool for a while, so she got a full day of water play in after all!!

We went to Smith lake earlier in the month.. I had never been there, but now that I have I recommend going!! It is BEAUTIFUL there!! I wanted to buy the house we were renting and stay! lol

Steve's wedding went off without a hitch!! It was beautiful!! The forecast said rain all week, but it never did rain that day!! Thank you Lord for answered prayers!!! They left for Jamaica a week later on their honeymoon.. They are back to the real world now though! lol Andrea bought Steve a puppy for his birthday! She is an absolutely adorable golden retriever named Kaydi Phoenix... She is named after the late great Kelsi Phoenix! (We miss you very much)

Upcoming events...

Ok, so I am horrible about keeping this blog updated! lol So much time passes that I forget to update everything.. I'd be on here a week if I did that! I did forget to mention in my last post that ALL the rennovations are finally completed!! We have hardwood floors, new tile and new carpet.. Plus a brand new custom back door!! everything looks GREAT!! I have pictures somewhere, but I don't know where they are right now.. I'll try to remember to post some pics later on...

Let's see... Steve and Andrea's wedding is only 2 1/2 weeks away!! This past weekend mom and I hosted a lingerie shower for Andrea.. It was so much fun except that the weather kept a lot of people from coming.. There was only 8 of us, but we had a blast!!! Things are really coming together for them.. We finished up the programs today and are doing the engagement pics on Friday.. It'll be here and over before you know it!!

I am sooo excited... I am starting cake decorating class tonight!!! Sandy and I are doing the groom's cake for the wedding so we decided to take a class.. i'm nervouse because I am not the least bit artistic!! lol Hopefully it will go well!! I'll take some pics and upload them soon!! This could be very entertaining.. Me and Sandy together is always a trip! HAHA

Macki has not had a sinus infection for about 2 months now!! YAY She seems to be doing great and it looks like removing her tonsils and adnoids will be avoided.. For now! haha

Well, I think that is about it for now....

One more thing....

I forgot to say that Macki finally lost her other front tooth.... Eating again was the culprit! haha

This, That and the Other...

OK, so things have been NUTS!!! We started having all these autograph sessions and work has been insane ever since.. I have never in my life seen so many people in the mall!!!!

It was wild, but fun! This was the first of many very very busy weekends at Parkway Place! lol We had two sessions this past weekend and now I think it's

over for a while!! whew!!

We went to the Smokies back in February .. It was a blast.. The girls had so much fun playing in the snow!!! Sandy and I caught a stomach bug somehow, but all in all it was a good trip! lol

This past weekend was Easter.. Sooooo busy.. We had family get togethers Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. I feel like I weigh 400lbs after all that good food!!! haha Saturday night Karis, Caleb & Jayden spent the night, so needless to say getting ready for church Sunday morning and cooking food for dad's house was a bit overwhelming!

We had such a good time being with family and the kids had a blast hunting all those eggs!!!!

Welcome 2010

Well the holidays have come and gone... They were great. I had a wonderful time with my family and friends!! Check out all the new pics...Here we are in 2010. I remember back when I was a kid that sounded so far away.. Time goes by so fast now though it seems..

We have had two snows in the last couple weeks which is kinda weird for Alabama.. 1/2 inch of snow and the whole city shut down for like four days!!! lol The kids loved it though!! They got to miss two days of school!!!

We are about to start some renovations in our house.. New floors (hardwood, carpet and tile), new appliances and new countertops... I'll post pics soon.. We ordered the hardwood today. They said 3-5 business days for delivery, so hopefully by next Monday they will start laying it! This means lots of work for us!! Also, in usual project form, problems have already arose! The back door apparently has been leaking and cause the plywood to rot. So we now have to add new plywood and a new back door to the list. We have alotted ourselves only so much money, so the rennovations may not be done until next year! haha I am dreading the whole process, but looking forward to the end result!! We have wanted to do this for so long, I'm just glad we are finally getting to!!

Work is starting to slow down, but with Alabama winning he National Championship (Roll Tide) we have a few things up our sleeve to keep us busy!! You never know who might be coming to town, so check our website www.usasportsartinc.com in the events section to see what's new!!!

We are also planning a trip to the Smokies in Feburary and I am looking so forward to it!! Maybe it'll snow there too!

Oh, Macki lost her 2nd tooth this past weekend.. She was eating Cheerios and it fell out! haha You have to understand that she lets her teeth get to the point they are hanging on by a thread and wont let us touch them.. The 1st one came out while eating as well! Anyway, when it fell out and she knew the tooth fairy would be coming, she and Karis decided that $20 or $30 would be a good amount to get!(she got $15. I said $10 , but Anthony said since it was her front tooth it should be more! Sucker! haha)) Are you kidding me? I remember getting excited over a dollar or 2!! I know about inflation, but this is getting ridiculous!!! lol

Well until next time: Yesterday is history... Tomorrow is a mystery... Today is a gift... That's why it's called the "present"!!!
